- How does MindParse AI work?
- You upload files like PDF, TXT, Markdown, CSV, and XLSX into a workspace. MindParse AI indexes them. When you ask a question, it uses semantic search when OpenAI or Ollama embeddings are configured, or full-text context otherwise. You can chat with all files or focus on one.
- What file types are supported?
- PDF, plain text (.txt), Markdown (.md), CSV, and Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx).
- Is my data private?
- Yes. Your documents are not used to train any public AI. You can run chat entirely locally with Ollama. If you use OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini, only your own API keys are used; data is sent to those providers per their policies.
- Do I need an API key?
- No. Ollama works without any key for chat. For semantic search, configure OpenAI in Settings or use Ollama embeddings. Optional: add Anthropic or Gemini in Settings for more models.
